Rokinon lenses aren’t generally as good as higher-end models from better celebrated Japanese camera companies, but they’re a lot cheaper. And like the regular Hero 10 Black, the Bones has a replaceable lens cloak that can also be swapped for third-party ND filters. 

The only systems on the camera are two buttons on the back. Nonetheless, it can be controlled with the mobile Quik app, GoPro Labs QR systems, GoPro’s wireless remote or even a drone transmitter.

Google’s $100 Million Photo Privacy Settlement: You Could Be Entitled to Receive Up to $400

Google agreed this spring to settle a $100 million class-action lawsuit alleging the gawk giant illicitly uses a facial-recognition program to sort pictures in Google Photos’ Face Grouping feature. Though Google denied any wrongdoing, it agreed to the multi-million-dollar payout in May. 

Class members could get as much as $400 each, according to the plaintiffs’ attorneys, but the deadline to file a claim is Sept. 24. Four days later, a final court hearing will determine whether the settlement and associated apt fees are “fair, reasonable, and adequate” before any payments are issued.

What is Google accused of in the privacy case?

Google Photos’ Face Grouping tool lets users well-kept images of the same person via facial recognition algorithms.

DJI’s Pocket 2 palm-size 4K vlogging cam improves on audio, video for $349

Two years ago DJI released the Osmo Pocket, a tiny handheld 4K camera stabilized on a three-axis motorized gimbal. For the follow-up, the Pocket 2, DJI dropped Osmo from the name but bulked up on features and accessories to make it an even better option for creators looking to do more with less. 

Like the fresh, the Pocket 2 records 4K-resolution video up to 60 frames per additional (at a 100Mbps bit rate) and full HD at up to 120fps for slow motion. However, it now has a larger 1/1.7-inch image sensor, which normally would mean larger pixels for better image quality.
