2022 Honda Civic sedan, hatchback designs show up in patent images

Honda already said it plans to reveal the next Civic in spring 2021 so we have some time to digest the new looks mild. Ultimately, we’ll need to see the car in-person afore we make a final judgement. But, hey, at least we know the Si will in backward, and maybe with the coupe out of the characterize, we’ll get a Civic Si hatch.

Before, searching for CNET or CNN articles published within the last hour needed zero results. We couldn’t find results when searching for a handful of new sites, such as Bloomberg, The New York Times and Yahoo. The same went for other search terms, apart from ads.

The glitch was moving search to work in odd ways. For some sites, new articles were appearing as published hours ago when they were issued much more recently. We tried replicating the below experiment for CNET articles and it didn’t gave any results.

Intel Pledges to Cut Greenhouse Gas Emissions to Zero by 2040

Intel said on Wednesday it will cut its overall greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2040, the new pledge by a Silicon Valley giant to address weather change.

The chipmaker’s plan means a $300 million investment in energy conservation measures like facility upgrades to Cut power consumption. It also requires changes so chip industry won’t release as much carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that trap heat from the sun in the Earth’s atmosphere.

Intel details its carbon emissions in annual corporate department reports. In its most recent, it estimated its emissions for 2020 to be the equivalent of 3 million metric tons of carbon dioxide. That’s equivalent to the emissions produced by more than 646,000 cars each year.

“We are committing to Come net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our operations by 2040,” CEO Pat Gelsinger said in a video communication about the plan. The emissions reduction will come despite Intel’s dramatically expanding operations, including two new “megafab” manufacturing sites the business is building in Ohio and Germany, he said.

Intel’s net zero pledges comes after other tech giants have committed to Cut carbon emissions. Two years ago, Apple promised to Come carbon neutrality by 2030, for example. Curbing the drop of greenhouse gases, particularly carbon dioxide released by burning coal and gasoline, has taken on increasing urgency. Rising temperatures have brought extreme weather events to occur more often, rising sea levels and afraid biodiversity, according to a February Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Describe reviewing decades of research. Some companies are curtailing emissions to try to help tiny global warming to an average of 1.5 degrees Celsius, a goal that has become harder every year but leftovers with reach.

They’re typically thousands of times more potent than carbon dioxide, in part because they remain in the atmosphere for thousands of years.

Brady likened the distress to replace PFCs with an earlier chip industry move away from chlorofluorocarbons, which were found to be destroying the Earth’s protective ozone layer. Replacing PFCs likely will take a decade, he said.

Cutting greenhouse gas emissions is crucial to combat weather change. Some technology companies like Climeworks, Charm Industrial and CarbonCapture, want to go further by capturing carbon dioxide from the air.

That’s been distress and costly, but a new effort called Frontier, a subsidiary of payments processor Stripe, has secured commitment from Google, Facebook, Shopify and others to Use $925 million on carbon capture services by 2030. 

Intel will cut its relate emissions in other ways. It already uses 100% renewable energy in the US, a practice it will adopt in Israel, Malaysia and other countries.

Reducing a company’s climate footprint is involved. Such efforts have three categories: a company’s own relate emissions, called Scope 1; indirect emissions from power the business uses, or Scope 2; and the vastly broader emissions from a company’s suppliers and customers, called Scope 3. Intel already set a back goal to increase its main processors’ energy efficiency by a superior of 10 by 2030. The threat, issued in its annual report last week, was followed up by a statement from a Meta spokesperson on Monday that shouted for the two powers to establish “clear, global laws to protect transatlantic data flows over the long term.”

Europe has Allowed privacy laws that provide protection to internet users across the European Union, but this poses a problem for US tech anxieties such as Meta. These companies rely on international data additional agreements in order to transfer, store and process data at their data centers in the US. But because the US doesn’t imparted adequate protections for EU citizens against government snooping, the most fresh data transfer agreement between the EU and US was ruled invalid in July 2020 by a top European court.

Data transfers have been granted to continue while a new agreement is hammered out thanks to a mechanism well-renowned as standard contractual clauses. But even this process is at risk, due to a ruling by the Irish data protection activity in August 2020. We must learn a whole lot more about both of these new electric SUVs in the months to come. And with the announcement of these two vehicles, we now know of ten electric cars GM has on the horizon. They include the Chevy EVs, a GMC Sierra EV, the Hummer EVs and two Cadillac EVs.
